India National Biodiversity Act (2002) vs. Nagoya Protocol (2014)

india flagBeing quite active in trying to gather as much information as possible on the regulations that are developed and / or under development with regards to Access and Benefit Sharing and the Nagoya Protocol implementation I come across interesting articles such as this publication written by Shloka Narayanan and Balakrishna Pisupati in March 2015.

This policy paper gives some insights on to what extent the National Biodiversity Act in India (2002) responds to the Nagoya Protocol international agreement.

I strongly invite you to read here the full publication for all the details on the common and distinctive measures.

It is important to note that in India, the National Biodiversity Act prevails all the other Act, Rules and Guidelines, which means that the Entry into Force to be considered for Indian Biological Resources access would be July 2004.
